Not all paint finishes are created equal. The sheen you choose affects both the appearance and durability of your painted surfaces. With local painting experience dating back to 1992, we’ll guide you to the perfect finish for each room in your home.
Flat/Matte Finish
Ideal for ceilings and low traffic areas like formal dining rooms or adult bedrooms. Provides a smooth, non-reflective appearance that hides minor wall imperfections. Easy to touch up but less washable than other finishes.
Eggshell Finish
Our most popular choice for living rooms, bedrooms, and hallways. Offers a subtle sheen with a soft, velvety appearance. More durable and washable than flat paint while still hiding minor imperfections.
Satin Finish
Perfect for high traffic areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and children’s rooms. Provides a gentle sheen that’s easy to clean and resists moisture and mildew. Excellent for trim and molding as well.
Semi-Gloss Finish
Best for cabinets, trim, doors, and areas that need frequent cleaning. Highly durable and moisture-resistant, making it ideal for bathrooms and kitchens. Reflects more light, creating a polished look.
Gloss Finish
Reserved for surfaces requiring maximum durability like doors, railings, and statement pieces. Provides a shiny, reflective finish that’s extremely easy to clean but shows every imperfection.
Not sure which finish is right for your project? Bill will walk you through the options during your free consultation, recommending the best finishes based on your home’s specific needs and your lifestyle.
Color Consultation Services
Choosing paint colors is one of the most challenging parts of any interior painting project. The right color can transform a room, while the wrong choice can be disappointing and costly. That’s why we offer personalized color consultation as part of our service.
How We Help You Choose:
Understanding Your Vision
We start by discussing your style preferences, the mood you want to create, and how you use each space. Whether you prefer calming neutrals, bold statements, or timeless classics, we help translate your vision into reality.
Considering Your Home’s Lighting
Natural and artificial lighting dramatically affects how colors appear. We evaluate your room’s lighting throughout the day to recommend colors that look beautiful in your specific conditions, not just on a paint chip.
Coordinating Throughout Your Home
We help you create a cohesive color flow from room to room, ensuring your home feels harmonious while allowing each space to have its own character.
Testing Before Committing
We can arrange for sample testing on your walls, allowing you to see how colors look in your actual space before making final decisions. This small step prevents costly mistakes and ensures confidence in your choices.
Popular Color Trends in Polk County Homes:
Overwhelmed by choices? That’s completely normal. With thousands of color options available, we simplify the process by narrowing selections based on your preferences, home style, and practical considerations. Our goal is to make color selection enjoyable, not stressful.
Common Interior Painting Problems We Solve
With local painting experience dating back to 1992, we’ve encountered every interior painting challenge imaginable. Here’s how we solve the most common problems homeowners face:
Covering Dark Colors with Lighter Ones
Dark walls require special techniques to prevent bleeding through. We use high quality primers and multiple coats to achieve even, beautiful coverage without the previous color showing through.
Water Stains and Damage
Water stains can’t simply be painted over, they’ll bleed through new paint. We identify the source of moisture, repair any damage, apply stain blocking primer, and then paint for a flawless finish that lasts.
Fixing Poor Previous Paint Jobs
Whether it’s streaky walls, visible brush marks, drips, or uneven coverage, we can correct substandard work. We properly prep surfaces, sand rough areas, and apply professional-quality paint for smooth, even results.
Peeling or Chipping Paint
Paint peels for several reasons: poor surface prep, moisture issues, or low quality paint. We address the root cause, remove loose paint, properly prepare surfaces, and use premium products that adhere correctly and last.
Matching Existing Colors for Touch Ups
Need to match paint that’s already on your walls? We can color match your existing paint or help you transition to a fresh new color throughout the space for consistent results.
Painting Over Wallpaper or Textured Walls
Old wallpaper and heavy textures create challenges for painting. We professionally remove wallpaper, smooth textured surfaces, and properly prepare walls for beautiful painted finishes.
Dealing with Smoke Damage or Odors
Smoke stains and odors require specialized primers and techniques. We use products specifically designed to seal in stains and eliminate odors before applying fresh paint.
Cracks, Holes, and Drywall Damage
We don’t just paint over problems, we fix them first. Our team repairs drywall damage, fills cracks and holes, and ensures smooth, flawless surfaces before painting begins.
High Ceilings and Hard to Reach Areas
Vaulted ceilings, stairwells, and two-story foyers require specialized equipment and expertise. We safely access and paint these challenging areas with professional results.
Paint That Won’t Stick or Dries Unevenly
This usually indicates surface contamination or improper prep. We thoroughly clean and prepare surfaces, ensuring proper paint adhesion and even drying for lasting results.

What We Handle:
What We Ask You to Do:
During the Project:
Day 1 – Preparation:
We arrive on time with all equipment. We’ll protect your floors and furniture with drop cloths, remove switch plates and outlet covers, repair any drywall damage, fill nail holes, sand surfaces, and clean walls.
Days 2-3 – Painting:
We apply primer where needed, then paint walls, ceilings, and trim according to your specifications. We maintain clean work areas and minimize disruption to your daily routine.
Final Day – Completion:
We remove all protective coverings, reinstall switch plates and outlet covers, touch up any areas as needed, and return furniture to place. Bill conducts a final walkthrough with you.
Living in Your Home During Painting:
Can you stay home? Absolutely! Most homeowners remain in their homes during interior painting. We work room by room to minimize disruption.
What about the smell? We use low-VOC paints with minimal odor. Most homeowners find the smell barely noticeable, and it dissipates quickly with normal ventilation.
Pets and children? We work safely around family members and pets. We recommend keeping pets in separate areas during active painting for their safety and ours.
When can you use the rooms? Rooms are typically ready to use within 24 hours, though we recommend waiting 2-3 days before hanging pictures or moving furniture against walls.
After We’re Done:
Cleanup: We leave your home cleaner than we found it, floors swept or vacuumed, all debris removed, and furniture returned to place.
Paint Care: We provide care instructions for your newly painted surfaces and leave you with touch-up paint for future needs.
Warranty: Your project is backed by our labor warranty. If any issues arise with our workmanship, we’ll make it right.
Questions during the project? Bill is accessible throughout your project. We believe in clear communication and want you to feel comfortable every step of the way.
